We are looking for stories that are entertaining, educational
and - at the moment this is the chief element - overtly Bahá'í.
We give preference to stories based on Bahá'í history
or Bahá'í administration (such as the 19 Day Feast,
the Fund, the LSA). We are convinced that such topics need not
be dry or boring or "too difficult" for children, providing
they are clothed in imaginative, creative writing and illustrating.
There is a fairly good supply (in many languages) of excellent
stories, produced by both Bahá'í and non-Bahá'í
publishers, on themes relevant to children's personal and social
development. Therefore, we are not actively looking for these
types of stories at the moment. However should a good text of
this sort land in our laps, we will certainly consider it.
Illustrations are vital to children's books.
We are always eager to hear from artists who are interested
in illustrating books. Best is if we can have some sample illustrations
which can help us match illustrators to stories. We encourage
co-operation between the writer and illustrator of a book.
If you are interested, if you have something you would like
to show us, please contact us before sending anything. We cannot
guarantee that unsolicitated work will be returned.
